Search for Truth

I came across a story in Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions about a nutritionist named Adelle Davis. She advocated wholesome eating, publicly denounced the food industry, and was regarded as controversial for some of her views.

She had a few appearances in the Johnny Carson show. In one show, the host asked her for a rule of thumb for healthy eating. She said, if it's advertised in the media, don't buy it. The tv station blocked out her comment, and so the public never heard that statement.
Was the tv station right to do that?
Maybe they HAD to do it. How could they dare mess around with the advertisers that give them their business?
Anyways, it's no secret that the media can manipulate what we see and hear.

But we have to be discerning in the information we let ourselves be fed. Things can be doctored up to make us believe x,y,and z OR to prevent us from knowing a,b,c. Even research and statistics can be manipulated.
In our search for truth we've got to read, read, and read some more. And ask questions. And to know who is the one giving out the info.
I do believe that if we look for truth, G-d will help us find it...

When it comes to food and nutrition, you're right on to say:

I'm suspect of most foods sold here in the U.S., and that is the reason why, soon, I'm going to be growing much of my own.

Growing your own stuff would be amazing. I don't know if it's hard to do, esp. if I live in the city, but I also would love to do that.

On the ground apt. in my building, lives an interesting lady. Guess she must've got fed up 'cuz she upped and got herself her own chickens.
Her own chickens, her own eggs.
And that's in the city!

That's funny!

I know how she feels--one of the reasons why I'm gonna start growing some of my own veggies.

It's kinda country here (but not too rural) where I live.

Owning my own chickens may violate a city ordinance or two, but I do empathize with your neighbor.

Namaste

Growing your own veggies! Nice.
I'll have to ask you for tips when I get to that.
