Riding the Waves...
With any change in life, questions arise. Doubts. Especially self-doubts.
"What am I?" "Can I really..?" Sometimes it's gentle-like a light drizzle.
Pitter patter.
Hardly noticeable at times.
And sometimes it comes in the form of a full-blown storm. Roaring thunder, strong, unrelenting winds, crashing waves, dark and thick engulfing clouds, and worst of all, fear...
How do we stay calm in the storms that rage both outside and in?
How do we ride the waves?
How do we keep balance?
And if we fall, how do get back up again? (B/c we CAN get up...)
How do we remain centered?
How do we find Truth?
How do I find MY truth?
Can I transform the fear?
Can I appreciate or even enjoy the change while it's happening?
And, more importantly, how long will it take to realize that I am not alone, and that He's been riding the waves with me
all along...
???
G-d bless!

Ha! I knew you were a poet. Beautifully written, Chaya.
How do we stay calm in the storms that rage both outside and in?
By knowing that our survival is assured, no matter what.
Failure is an illusion.
Someone wrote a book once, giving a magic formula for success, a formula that released her creative energy, drive, and became a fount of new ideas, and new opportunities.
Here's the magic formula:
"Act as though it's impossible to fail."
That thought has sustained me many times, especially when "failure" loomed all around me, or threatened my success.
Namaste
Ha! I knew you were a poet.
That made me laugh.
I'm running at the moment, but
Re: your magic formula, I want to think about that and get back to you.
Be well!
What you wrote reminded me of what I read once in a book about imagination.
The idea was that imagination could be used for either good or bad.
If a guy's in a pickle, and he's pessimistic and consciously/ unconsciously imagining himself failing, then he's fallen into a darkness of illusion. He's blocked to the wisdom that could help him get out of the situation.
(And it SO-OOOO easy to fall into this so many times as if THAT'S what's normal)
Similarly, if he imagines himself succeeding, step by step, then he's more apt to succeed.
I guess 'cuz how you think will determine how you act. "Human thought has tremendous potential."
The way we think can make something happen.
"Act as though it's impossible to fail."
I hear you.
Also, a mentor of mine told me last week that when someone is going through tough times, G-d is down there with you,so to speak. That's a comforting thought..
All good reminders and sometimes we're just thirsty for them, like a plant needing water.
This is where I need to exercise my stubborn streak and know G-d is w/ me, imagine GOOD, and ACT as though it's impossible to fail.
:)
Thanks

You're getting ahead of my analysis of the Creation Story. The next installment is available.
It's a bit longer than I wanted, but I believe that it's well worth the read.
But then I'm a little prejudice in my favor!
Similarly, if he imagines himself succeeding, step by step, then he's more apt to succeed.
I guess 'cuz how you think will determine how you act. "Human thought has tremendous potential."
Chaya, you're right, human thought is powerful. Let me share quickly with you how I've used this magic formula, as I call it.
Before I start any endeavor, whether it's to give a public speech, write a paper, article, or what have you, I envision the end product, the end result, the paper or article complete, the speech over.
With the speech, i visualize a rousing ovation, loaded with compliments, the article or paper, I visualize myself receiving high praise and approbation.
This alone releases my energy, and my creativity, allowing me to do better than I could have possibly hoped.
The key again: I visualize the end result that I seek, before I begin, and visualize, and experience it often.
That way, I "act as though it's impossible to fail," before the opportunity presents itself where my personal success or failure hang in the balance.
Namaste
It was worth the read, thank you.
There was a time, I remember joking around w/ friends by staying stories of ourselves in a way that usu. resulted w/ someone failing absolutely miserably.
We made it really funny, so all the while, we're laughing our heads off, y'know. Such comedians we were.
But I think this line of skewed thinking and imagining actually influenced how we viewed ourselves. Failure being imminent. Not trying for fear of being complete fools.
and thus, not trying...
I've learned much since those days, but it's not enough to just not think negative. It's time people focused on proactive, positive thoughts and actions.
