Scientists are upset because Kenya has recently banned GM foods.
Kenyan officials stated that there was a "lack of sufficient information on the public health impact of such foods".
With a rat study published in Food and Chemical Toxicology showing rats developing cancer from eating GM corn, I completely understand Kenya and every single person who reject this man-made 'food.'
Scientists complained that the study was done incorrectly, from the experimental design to the statistical analysis.
Peter Kearns, head of food safety, nanosafety and chemical accidents for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris states," Resolution of the debate over the safety of GM foods can come only from rigorous science clarifying the issues"
So if the issue needs clarification, why push these GM 'foods' down our throats? Down the throats of Africans?
The scientists are upset??
Let'em be upset.
G-d bless!

Please pass the Meat Glue....
Another reason why we should buy organic meat and only eat home-cooked food....
We know this is all about making more money.
At the expense of our health.
Be aware at how deep the rabbit hole goes as to how far the Food Industry, the FDA, and a whole lot of money-hungry minds will go
for an extra buck....
how can this 'naturally occurring' substance resist heat?
Gimme a break. Ain't nothin' natural about this.
Reminds of the R. Nachman story The Simpleton and the Sophisticate...
This is sophisticate and disgusting!
G-d bless!

India versus Monsanto
I saw this article, and it made me soooo happy!!!
People are standing up against Monsanto-the biotech company responsible for making genetically modified organisms/(food).
For the first time ever, a country is suing Monsanto.
India is accusing Monsanto of biopiracy-of stealing indigenous plants, specifically the brinjal. Brinjal is very popular Indian staple. India believes that Monsanto is stealing the plants in order to make genetically modified versions and selling them w/o giving any compensation to India.
It could take years, but the Indian government feels it's important to send the message out as a deterrent.
I hope other countries learn from this example.
This is truly exciting news. Monsanto has to understand that they cannot create frankenstein seeds and 'foods' and destroy our farms and essentially our lives.
Go India! Get'em good!
G-d bless!!

Taking Down Monsanto and GMO Foods
I read an article today that got me so excited.
Groups, "Organic Consumers Association, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap, Center for Food Safety, Mercola.com, Nature's Path, Natural News.com, LabelGMOs.org, Food Democracy Now, and the Institute for Responsible Technology, filed papers with the California Attorney General's office to place a Citizens Initiative on the Ballot in November, 2012 that would require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods and food ingredients."
In Europe, it is law that foods must be labeled if they are genetically engineered, but in America no such law exists and therefore all sorts of food stuff and ingredients can be sold to the American consumer w/o their knowledge. Monsanto, the "biotech bully" are really heading the GMO production, and it's fantastic that people are gathering together to end their tyranny!
This is what we need!! Strength, courage, prayer, and action! Consumer power can really shift the tide to our benefit. And why not?? If we are going to pay money to buy food, it better be the real deal and not some rip-off!
Right now, the Citizens' Initiative is in need of volunteers, donations, and signatures to help forward the cause.

When an Orange met a Banana...

This post is in memory of Sarah Deena Rochel bat Yehudit.
Our Sages share with us the idea that before the sickness comes, Hashem/G-d/the Almighty already brought forth the antidote. Before the problem occurs, the solution is already present.
This is very powerful.
B/c in this world, where illness of all sorts abounds, we must understand that the cures exist. We must also understand the absurdity of waiting until we are sick before we start taking measures towards health. No!!! We must understand that true healing requires going back to our Source.
And the time for action is NOW!!!
In His goodness and mercy, Hashem foresaw it all: the diabetes, the obesity, the cancers...
And He has infused the world we live in with medicine. YES! The medicines are all around us. And thankfully, these medicines do not only come in the form of bitter herbs. (although some do and that's cool, too) They come in the sweetness of fruits, in the crunch of nuts and seeds, in the earthiness of herbs, in the breath that we take, in the happiness of our hearts, in the simplicity of life, in the belief in G-d, in the belief of ourselves, in the stretch and the courage in our limbs....
Burrowed deep into the simplest fruits and vegetables lay traces of the healing power of G-d.
This is a big deal, y'all!!!
I had a friend, Sarah Deena Rochel, who recently passed away from leukemia. She was barely twenty! I remember her always be so bubbly and cheerful. It hurts me very much. It was diagnosed before I got full swing into my whole health track- although I don't know if there was anything I could have done to help. She basically got put in the medical wash machine and that pretty much finished her. No natural approach whatsoever.
*Sigh.
A study was done in the University of California Berkley re: leukemia (cancer of the bone marrow) and this was one of their findings: "children who regularly ate oranges and/or bananas during their first two years of life had a reduced risk of developing childhood leukemia. Oranges are full of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a well known antioxidant and is also known for its anticancer effects. Bananas contain a high amount of potassium. Potassium is a mineral that has also shown to have some anti-cancer benefits."
Oranges and bananas.
Bananas and oranges.
But we must be wise, my friends. As we speak, corporate companies like Monsanto (may this name be erased!) are plotting to end normal seeds and foods as we know it to create GM foods, genetically modified foods.
Garbage!!!
First off, these seeds do not reproduce from year to year. Hashem created foods just fine, we don't need greedy corporate suits messing with them. So be SURE to boycott GM foods. Be sure to support farmers who are growing natural, organic foods.
Y'see, it's very easy to get overwhelmed with all of this. Sometimes it seems the corporate suits are just too savvy, too quick, and too strong.
But consumer power is just that: Power.
And it gets the corporate suits exactly where it hurts the most. They cannot be in charge of our foods and our future. Period.
We are in control, and the moment we realize our power, the world will be a different playing field completely. We have to believe in our power, believe in our own goodness, and believe in G-d's goodness.
Thank the Almighty, I have another friend who was diagnosed with cancer. How she fought!! She insisted on pushing off radiation for as long as she could, instead de-toxing the junk out and building her body with natural medicines and going to see a natural doctor.
Today, beloved reader, she is waiting to see if all the cancer is gone! She is doing exercises, getting strong, and has got her adult children into a more healthy life style as well.
Hodu L' Hashem Ki Tov!! Thank G-d who is good!
We mustn't lose hope, and the healing words of health and love must be spread fast and wide. We are depending on you! And feed oranges and bananas to your loved ones. The truth is there has also been breakthroughs with grape seed extract re: leukemia. I want to read up more about it, but I'll give a source at the end.
G-d bless!!

April 16
Did you know that last year Wal-Mart announced that its store-brand milk, Great Value, will only come from dairies that have pledged not to treat its cows with rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone aka rBST)?
Wal-Mart is the lastest of the retailers that are responding to consumer demand and changing its products. Safeway, Inc also changed its store brand milk. Sam's Club will also being offering milk choices from cows not treated with the hormone.
Thank G-d, there are now options.
Conventional, non-organic milk mostly comes from cows treated with rBGH. So, what's the problem?
RBGH/Posilac is an animal drug manufactured by Monsanto. It's injected into cows to increase milk production. Treated milk has "higher levels of the hormone insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). IGF-1 is one of the most powerful growth hormones in the human body and is naturally present in cows' milk."
There have been evidence showing that a link b/w rBGH and breast, colectoral, and prostate cancer.
Check out the Harvard study:
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/279/5350/563
Not only that, injected cows get mastitis infections which are treated with antibiotics. The antibiotics doesn't just go away, folks. We become more anti-biotic resistant-which causes other problems!
RBGH is banned in the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
This cancer link prompted the "American Nurses Association to call for the elimination of rbGH in dairy production. The American Medical Association's past president urged hospitals to serve only rbGH-free milk, and over 160 hospitals have already pledged to do so. Schools nationwide have also banned drugged milk."
(I'm hoping these include schools in African American neighborhoods...)
I am thrilled for retailers like Wal-Mart and organizations that are making changes. Since last year, Starbucks have been only using rBGH free milk!
There is still more work to be done.
On April 3, a bill was passed in Kansas. Milk products that are from non-injected cows will be labeled as such. OK. Here's the catch: In the similar font and size will be an accompanying label stating "The FDA has determined that no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rbGH-supplemented and non-rbGH-supplemented cows."
Is that really true?
"Studies normally used to determine whether a drug is carcinogenic will test two different species for about two years--the lifetime of mice or rats. But Monsanto tested rbGH on rats for 28 or 90 days. FDA official John Scheid later admitted to the Associated Press that the agency had never actually examined the raw data from Monsanto's rat feeding study; rather they based their conclusions on a summary provided by Monsanto."
Check out http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-smith/fda-promotes-unsafe-milk_b_184886.html
This can cause a lot of confusion in consumers.
There have been 29 groups writing letters to Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebilius (who was chosen by Obama to become Secretary of Health and Human Services) to veto the bill.
The deadline to veto this bill is April 16.
Here's a copy of the letter:
http://www.consumersunion.org/pub/core_food_safety/010910.html
Consumer protest IS effective. It has made changes already, and it can do MORE. Not just for us but for future generations.
You can take action by either writing a letter to Governor Sebilius or sending an email via website http://www.responsibletechnology.org/GMFree/TakeAction/GovernorSebilius/index.cfm
