CocoNut Oil

Today, more so in previous years, there's a lot of talk how saturated fat is harmful to our health. However, now it's being revealed that past studies were using trans-fats-hydrogenated oil.

Oil becomes hydrogenated when hydrogen gas is forced into the oil at high pressure, resulting in a chemical change in the oil, but also resulting in a product that is more "stable" -in that it will take a longer time to spoil. Hence, longer shelf life. But short health life considering that they cause havoc in the body. Margarine and vegetable shortening, shortening are hydrogenated. Unfortunately when we eat margarine, our body does not reject them. Instead they are used in our cell membranes as if they were the correct fats (cis fats) And thus chemical reactions are thus skewed. Plus, "over 90 percent of all soy, corn, and canola oils are made from genetically engineered seeds."

But there is a good guy/gal in this story.
I remember in the past when coconuts and any derivative thereof was shunned. However, again past studies were focusing on hydrogenated oils. (Liars!) Coconut oil, in fact, has been found to have tremendous health benefits.

First off, b/c it's saturated, it's more stable for cooking needs. It's not going to go rancid at high temperatures like canola, corn oil. It's lauric acid has anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial properties. It's fat is easily digested for quick energy rather than stored as fat. And it strengthens the immune system. It helps prevent heart disease and even reduce abdominal obesity. It is even found to be helpful in the treatment of AIDS.

I find it really disturbing how statistics can be manipulated and lead people to start consuming unhealthy things in all innocence. And although it's a blessing that there's an awareness of healthy eating, we cannot be fooled. Even natural health food movements may have their agenda when it comes to money.

Simple is always best. Home-grown is always best. Local is always best. Natural food versus supplement is always best. Incorporating raw foods is always best. Eating in moderation is always best. Eating things you can pronounce is always best. Unprocessed and unbleached coconut oil is always best.

Coconut oil is white, semi-solid in cool weather and creamy colored oil in hot weather.

G-d bless!!

An Apple A Day

In Hebrew, the word for apple is TaPuAch HaAiTz-apple of the tree. And the word for potato is TaPuaAch HaADaMa-apple of the land.

And sure enough, these are "apples" that people eat quite frequently. With apple's anti-oxidant powers and potatoes' vitamin C, B6, and health promoting phytochemicals it's not hard to see why.

Yet these favored apples when conventionally grown have more pesticides than other fruits and vegs.

"Don't panic 'cuz I'm organic!"

It would be ideal to get all our produce organic. However, if it's a financial strain, know that most plant food contain less pesticides than animal food b/c there is less accumulation. There are some produce like avocados and cabbage that don't even necessarily need to be purchased organic.

But let's shop 'smart'. And that doesn't only mean saving dollars and shekels. It means also saving our health. So, if we favor apples, whether they grow on trees or grow from the ground, let's opt for the organic kind and encourage others to do so as well.

Less pesticides.

More life.

G-d bless!

(Note that potatoes are nightshade vegetables. That is, these veggies (like eggplant and tomatoes) can pull out calcium from the bone. So if someone is not consuming dairy products go easy on 'dem potatoes)

Who's the Caveman?

I read an article how Unilever brought scientists together to try to re-discover what was the diet of the caveman of 12,000 years in order to "enhance" modern day nutrition.

It seems the hunter-gatherer our ancestors subsisted on vegetables, fruits, nuts, roots, and meat. This is not rocket science. There were no cereal, bread, potatoes or even milk. People only adapted to milk later on (although there are many today who are lactose intolerant.)

"Palaeolithic man was not a raging carnivore. He was an omnivore who loved his greens. He would have gathered seeds to eat, used plants and herbs for flavoring and preserving fish and meat, and collected wild berries."

Yeah, everyone likes to spew how the cave people were so primitive and backward.
And how cultures who "resemble" them are also to be pitied. Well, nutritionally, they were doing far better than we are in our modern world. With today's genetically modified 'foods', hybrids, and Twinkies-stuffing that do nothing to truly nourish us, who exactly is the backward cavemen?

Amalek

Every age has its myths, its trends to be idolized and followed by the "masses." Most people follow the trend and seek to identify with them and its role models. It's a very powerful current and it's very difficult not to get caught up in it. After all we want to be seen as "normal."

However, many myths and trends, created by Amalek, conceal truths and form a web of lies designed to plunge people into great ignorance, exploitation, and ultimately death.
Never heard of Amalek??
Truth is you've already met him. Them.
It is an idea and the people (who may be white or black) that enforce it. Perversion of justice.
Their main tool: deception.

We exhale carbon dioxide.
So, what exactly is the plan to lower the numbers of carbon dioxide emissions?
World population is about 9 billion.
"If we do a really great job with new vaccines, healthcare, and reproductive health services, we can lower that by perhaps 10 to 15 percent..."

Sounds fishy?

Sounds farfetched?

Good.

You've just officially met Amalek.

Corn Sugar

Beware!! With the growing consumers' awareness that high fructose corn syrup is unhealthy, The Corn Refiners Association want to drop the name corn syrup and instead use "corn sugar."

Israel and Africa

Israel has been teaching their drip irrigation to countries in West Africa. The drip system, developed in the 1960s, allow farmers to have more efficient use of water and allows them to care for specific plants without over watering. Erratic rains and food shortage have left countries like Senegal in dire straits. Now instead of having one harvest a year from rain, drip irrigation allows three harvests per year.
